{"id":27728,"date":"2023-05-09T16:10:24","date_gmt":"2023-05-09T21:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/poncatribe-ne.gov\/?p=27728"},"modified":"2023-05-09T16:10:24","modified_gmt":"2023-05-09T21:10:24","slug":"elder-general-assistance-payments","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/qlogicllc.com\/poncatribe\/news\/elder-general-assistance-payments\/","title":{"rendered":"Elder General Assistance Payment(s)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your Ponca Tribe of Nebraska<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Elder General Assistance Payment(s)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My Relative,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On behalf of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska, I bring you greetings in all ways good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On December 7th, 2021, the Ponca Tribal Council created the <strong>Elder General Assistance Program<\/strong> in an effort to provide qualified Ponca Elders with a financial benefit to assist them with routine expenses, increase their self-sufficiency and promote the general welfare of the Tribe, by providing two (2) payments per year, each in the amount of $500.00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To be eligible to receive benefits under the <strong>Elder General Assistance Program<\/strong> a person must be both:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An active enrolled member of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fifty-five (55) years of age or older by May 1st and November 1st of each year\u2019s payment distribution periods (<em>May 1st \u2013 May 15th, and November 1st \u2013 November 15th<\/em>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ponca Elders meeting the above requirements are eligible regardless of residence or domicile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>As a Ponca Elder that meets these requirements, your payment of $500 is enclosed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please note: this payment is exempt from U.S. Federal income taxes and the Tribe will not report it on a 1099. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Ponca Tribal Council understands elders are typically on a fixed, limited income.
