The following information has been released by Nebraska&#8217;s Department of Education:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have questions about homeschooling for the 2020\/21 school year, please note the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Please visit the Exempt School Program website to review the regulation, FAQs, forms &amp; instructions. The website address is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/linkprotect.cudasvc.com\/url?a=http%3a%2f%2fwww.education.ne.gov%2fFOS%2fexempt-schools&amp;c=E,1,j0Fb_aeimpmKR0wsSkIA4z430gJKA-zmUHZth4kZoS4lXoRXxTZ4LPukE2aFbzY5yc1p6LV4MoDxnBWShUEN0aI0_jyfP68BWQZBwMET6Ri06w,,&amp;typo=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">www.education.ne.gov\/FOS\/exempt-schools<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Exemption filings are due annually by July 15.&nbsp; For parents\/legal guardians who are waiting for schools to announce re-opening and remote learning plans,&nbsp;<strong>there is an existing provision in Rule 13 to allow for filing after July 15.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>File&nbsp;<strong>promptly<\/strong>&nbsp;once you make the decision to \u201chome school.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;If you have already filed, allow 6 weeks for processing.&nbsp; Status checks cannot be done at this time.&nbsp; Refer to the \u201cAfter Submission\u201d portion of the instructions for further information.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Your exempt school filing is&nbsp;<strong>effective upon receipt<\/strong>&nbsp;by the Department of Education.&nbsp; Refer to Question D28 of the FAQ document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A Rule 13 filing is only applicable to students of mandatory school attendance age.&nbsp; A kindergarten student born after 2014, is below the mandatory age.&nbsp; Refer to Section B of the FAQ document.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our education program has been receiving many calls and questions about homeschooling.
